Tax Time 2010 Processing & Refunds

The Australian Taxation Office has released correspondence in relation to tax return processing and refunds following Tax Agent concerns that some of our clients have yet to receive refunds, despite 2010 income tax returns having been lodged in July.

The ATO advise their aim is to process income tax returns in a way that balances the need to achieve good service standards, whilst maintaining the integrity of their tax and superannuation systems. Sometimes this necessitates delays in the issuing of refunds.
